The Catholic Church includes the Latin Church and the Eastern Catholic Churches in full communion with Rome. Eastern Catholics maintain distinctive liturgies, spiritual practices, theological expressions, and ecclesial traditions.
Byzantine Catholic Churches include the Melkite Greek Catholic, Ukrainian Greek Catholic, Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic, and Romanian Greek Catholic Churches, among others. Other Eastern Catholic traditions include Maronite, Chaldean, Armenian, Coptic, Syriac, and additional Eastern Catholic Churches.
These nine courses were not developed as distinct Eastern Catholic curricula. Parish leaders and individual learners should review their content to determine what can supplement formation within their own Church.
