In the news there are often reports of stolen identities, hacked account, password leaks, and security threats. We are concerned for all of our students' security and as such, we work to ensure that all information is safeguarded.
Due to our adherence to the Catholic Faith, CatechismClass.com – like all religious websites – must be on high alert from attacks from anti-religious zealots. We encourage all of our users to remain vigilant in all of their online dealings and to exercise extreme caution. Know that we do everything we can to protect our users' data and that is why we do not store any credit card or payment information of any kind on this website, or our databases, as all payment details are handled by PayPal.
Personally Identifiable Information, which consists of your name, address, contact number, and any other personal details that will verify your identity, will be protected under this agreement. In any and all instances, we will not sell or distribute your personal information in exchange of any consideration.
In any and all instances, we will not sell or distribute your personal information in exchange of any consideration. The data will be kept securely and not disclosed unless expressly permitted so to do. It must be understood that this Agreement does not cover non-personally-identifiable information, such as aggregate user data, IP address, browser type, etc., as fetched from general browsing or visiting other sites while logged in to our site.
Unfortunately, Passwords remain the highest target of choice for those with malicious intent, especially 'identity theft'. Once obtaining a Password, a malicious entity could destroy your life.
CatechismClass.com secures your Password with an extreme level of encryption. All user Passwords are run through a function using industry best practices and current cryptographically secure methods, the result of which produces a 40 digit coded string— a highly unique and 'unbreakable' piece of data. Even our technicians can not reverse engineer your Password. With this level of security and the general level of security on the entire site, you can be assured that your Password can not be breached on our end.
With that said, the best of technology can not substitute for general common sense, and therefore this privacy statement does not cover failures to exercise due diligence in common sense.
We have a general policy in place when a user first registers or chooses to change a Password. The Password must be more than 6 characters long and at least have one or more Capitals within it — case Sensitivity implied. This is to ensure that 'strong passwords' are being used... but, even this might be compromised if there is no fore-thought or common sense in place. Do not choose Passwords that could be easily 'guessed'; like birthdays or combined names of children.
Every 'platform' (Windows, Mac, iOS, etc.) provides 'password managers' in their system; and it is highly recommended by CatechismClass.com to use them. At the very least, you will be reminded to change your passwords on a regular basis. Passwords that remain the same for long periods of time, and/or that are used on multiple accounts, are the most vulnerable and are regularly targeted. Password managers also give advise on how to create better Passwords— consider this:
CatechismClass.com may at times, under unusual circumstances, issue temporary Passwords to a user having extreme difficulty either logging in, or re-activating a dormant account. It is expected that this temporary Password be changed by the user at their earliest convenience. This statement of security does not cover any breach of an account due to a 'Failure to do so'.
