Product Description

Each year on February 3rd, the Church celebrates the Feast of St. Blasé. The Feast of St. Blasé is situated immediately after the Feast of the Purification of our Lady (called Candlemas). On February 2nd the priest blesses candles and we carry them in Procession to mark the end of the Christmas Season. Today, the next day, we have the ancient tradition of having our throats blessed by a priest who holds blessed candles. In this lesson, we will study the life of St. Blasé and learn about the tradition of the Blessing of Throats. We will also learn about the Fourteen Holy Helpers, of which, St. Blasé is one of them.

All CatechismClass Lessons follow our time-tested 7 Step format: Introduction, Opening Prayers, Scripture and Commentary, Catechism Passages, Integration of the Lesson Topic, an activity, and a closing prayer. All course content is self-paced, asynchronous, and always accessible. Access never expires. Quizzes end each of the lessons.
