When Jesus was born, there was so much joy in heaven, armies of angels came to Earth to sing God’s praises. heavenly hosts sang "Gloria!" and "Alleluia!" in honor of the newborn King.

The angels shared in our joy of salvation. They sang God’s praises for the newborn Jesus. At Mass, we sing the sang chorus the angels sang in the Gloria. We sing praises to God in the same way.

“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God, and saying: Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will.”  Luke 2:13-14
